Civic issues
Topics getting the most attention in Boise public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Downtown event season road closures and transit reroutes
The triathlon will close Whitewater Park Boulevard from State Street to Main on June 6, with flaggers and volunteers managing traffic. The loss of the CWI construction lot means more neighborhood parking, so residents got mailers.
Victory Road traffic and railroad crossing concerns
Residents say the South Victory Road railroad crossing has no shoulder and can't handle the added traffic from Vista Point's 640 units plus the neighboring Hollowfield development. Council members promised to raise it with ACHD.
Campus-area parking and transportation
Council members relayed constituent complaints about BSU parking. The plan identifies roughly 370 additional stalls needed as enrollment grows, and the university is studying parking operations levers, shuttle service, and pedestrian safety improvements like Barnes Dance crossings.
